BORNEO RAINFOREST LAW CONFERENCE 2019

In conjunction with the “Borneo Rainforest Law Conference 2019” organised by the Sabah Law Society with the co-operation of the Sabah Justices of the Peace Council and Sabah Native Customs and Mediation Resource Centre at Pacific Sutera Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on 17 January 2019 which was well attended by 325 people from the country and abroad, two more Volumes of the Borneo Law Reports (BLR) edited by our Managing Partner Mr. Tan Kee Heng were launched by the Chief Justice Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Richard Malanjum. With these 2 latest volumes (containing 135 cases and mostly unreported cases), now in total there are 9 Volumes of BLR categorized into 53 Subject Matters reporting the total number of 797 cases originated from Sabah and Sarawak.


This BLR was the brainchild of Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Richard Malanjum and in the Foreword, he remarked, “This publication is an important addition to the legal literature of our country through judicial precedents and I have no doubt that the legal fraternity will appreciate it with gratitude.”


In the Foreword graciously written by Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima David Wong Dak Wah, the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak stated that “The Borneo Law Reports are not only beneficial to the legal practitioners, they are also without doubt very beneficial to the Bench.”


Our Managing Partner expressed his sincere and great appreciation to the Honourable Judges and Judicial Commissioners of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in providing their respective compiled judgments for the purpose of this publication as a useful addition to the legal literature in this country and also for the benefit of the legal fraternity.
